KS4 Chemistry Photo Challenge

Just for you jigsaw guys who complained that the last one was too easy. Click on the image and try to complete the jigsaw. The completed jigsaw shows a part of one of the topics in KS4 chemistry. When completed press 'print screen', paste the image into a word document, write your name and form under the image, tell me the full title of the chemistry topic it comes from and explain what is happening - use the yr 10 & 11 menu to find out. Email your attached document to brta@patana.ac.th - get it right and there is a tasty snack card for your sweet and sticky consumption.

  1. Thanks for all your emails regarding the jigsaw puzzle. The winner was Ritika in 11A. Her answer was:

"We learnt this topic in C5 MATERIALS AND STRUCTURES
Ionic bonding is metal transfer to non-metal.
Na is 2,8,1……Cl 2, 8, 7 so sodium loses 1 electron and chlorine gains that electron to make its outer shell full 2, 8, 8.
Na+ Cl-, ionic bonding is the transfer of electrons. If the electron is lost the charge is negative and gaining electrons means positive. So it becomes sodium chloride. NaCl!"

Keep an eye on the web site for more challenges.
